Seaside Sixes 2025

RULES OF SEASIDE SIXES

TOURNAMENT – 2025

In the main, we will be following the Rules of Hockey

1.  Field of Play

The field is half a full turf

2.  Composition of Teams

2.1   A maximum of six players per team on the field, maximum of 10 in a team, with no limit of the number of rolling substitutes. Mixed teams consist of a maximum of 3 men in the playing team at any time.

2.2  Each team can have a goalkeeper but this is not compulsory (no kicking back).

2.3  Teams will play in correct uniform. Goalkeepers must have a different colour shirt to either of the teams playing. There will be a coloured bibs available in each dugout.

3.  Team Organisers

3.1  Please advise controller of any player/umpires available, this will be MOST welcomed.

4.  Match and Result

4.1  A match consists of one period of 18 mins - there is no half time.

4.2  7 minutes between games

4.3  The result is based on goals only

4.4  Time is controlled by central hooter – time is stopped immediately

5.  Special Playing Rules

5.1  PUSHING ONLY

5.2  There is to be no hitting, slap hitting or drag-flicks – danger will be tightly controlled

5.3  Offences which would normally attract a penalty corner will be played from 1m outside the circle and must travel 5 metres before going in to the circle.

5.4 Defensive 16’s can be taken from anywhere inside the circle – opposition players must be outside circle and 5 metres away from the ball.

5.5  Long corners will be taken on the side line within 5 metres of the baseline.

5.6  Play can continue if the ball stays inside the divider on the normal half-way line

5.7  If there is an infringement inside the circle that would normally result in a stroke then a goal will be awarded.

5.8  Controlled overheads allowed – ruled on danger

The 2026 Vantage NZ Masters Tournament

​​​​​​​North Harbour, Auckland 

The 2026 Vantage National Masters tournament will be held in North Harbour from the 22nd - 28th February 2026.

We are planning on having a team in all men's and women's age groups from 35 to 65.

Entries for this event will open in November 2025.

2025 Masters 8-week Competition 

Come and join us for a fun and exciting

8-week competition.

Starting Sunday 14th September through to Sunday 2nd November 2025.  

​​​​​​​Games will be played on all 3 turfs

​​​​​​​All game start at 3.00 pm

Masters' Musters on Sundays

We run weekly Masters Musters when we are not playing winter hockey.

Our first muster date is to be confirmed and we will run weekly after that.

These are fun, social, mixed and casual games open to anyone from 34 years of age. Come down and join us for a run around followed by a socialising drink or 2.

We may also try to arrange for a muster on a long weekend when there is no winter hockey. Please check Face Book for these posts.

Please turn up around 2.30 for a 3.00 game

$5 for turf fees

Please bring white and dark top 

Social mixed games - all welcome (34 years plus)

New players welcome - just turn up!
