WHANGA TURF RENEWAL AND LIGHTING UPGRADE 2025
We are excited to confirm that due to the support of Tauranga City Council and TECT and our members financial contribution over the past few years we have been able to push go on the renewal of the carpet on Whanga Turf and upgrade the current lighting to LED's early in 2025.
Exciting!
Polytan have been successful in being appointed to remove and install a new thicker shockpad, and a new wet/dry turf that requires less watering - as seen at the Paris Olympics in 2024!
Inline channels will also be installed to assist with the waterflow to reduce the flooding on this turf.
Lumosa LED lights were installed on the Moana Turf and they will also be used on the Whanga turf. We are fortunate to have these installed by Joel and his crew at Link Electrical.
