Hockey Without Limits 2024
We would like to thank the Spirit of Macmad for supporting this programme.
Term Four
Tauranga Hockey Association is delighted to run this inclusion programme for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities. This programme is for Primary, Intermediate and High School aged students.
Hockey Without Limits (HWL) has been running since 2017 and was developed to promote hockey as a 'sport for all'. Engagement in sport not only has a positive impact on the physical body and mental well-being but also is effective in connecting all people - regardless of skill level or ability - and encouraging increased interaction with peers.
The Objectives:
The Programme:
The programme will be delivered over 4 weeks, with sessions 1 hour each. The sessions will involve a variety of generic and hockey-specific fun games and activities that encourage hand-eye coordination, fundamental movement, agility and sport-specific skills. The 4th session will be a morning of hockey games, where students will learn the value of playing as part of a team.
Games: For those students who are wanting a bit 'extra', we will gather these students together and have 2 x skills followed by 30 minute hockey games.
Location: Tauranga Hockey Association, 42 Kawaka Street , Mount Maunganui 3149
