IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • There may be a limit on team numbers due to Whanga turf being relayed in February/March 2025. If there needs to be a limit on team entries, the first teams registered will have priority.
  • The TEAM CAPTAIN/MANAGER will be the main contact person for your team and MUST BE AN ADULT. The Captain/Manager is also responsible for the behaviour of team members and ensuring you have enough players to play each week.
  • Summer Hockey provides an opportunity for all people to enjoy hockey and have fun. By registering, your team agrees to focus on fun and encourage all participants to enjoy a positive and accepting environment.
  • No scores will be taken or kept so everyone can focus on fun.
  • If you have a couple of team members unable to play you must find replacement players for the night. If you cannot find extra players contact Barbara @ Tauranga Hockey as soon as possible and she will try to allocate players to your team.
  • Please note there may be a cancellation administrative fee enforced if a team does not give sufficient notice of being unable to play a game. A minimum 24 hours will be required if your team is unable to play a game. The team manager must email or phone the Competitions Administrator and receive a reply to ensure the message has been received - competitions@tgahockey.co.nz / Ph: 027 282 6400. Messages on facebook are not sufficient notice.
  • If a team pulls out after registration and payment closes, there will be a $45.00 administration fee charged.
  • The Primary Years 3-6 and Adult Competitive leagues are subject to team numbers in term 1. If there are not enough team entries then these teams will be moved to the Family (Primary teams) or Adult Social (Adult Competitive teams) grades but teams will be contacted first to discuss options.
  • We are bound by and agree to abide by the Tauranga Hockey Code of Conduct.

HOW TO REGISTER A TEAM

The following two steps must be followed when registering a summer hockey team

1. TEAM MANAGER

The Team Manager must click the relevant link below (either Monday & Wednesday  OR Thursday), to register a summer hockey team in PlayHQ and pay the team registration fee.

Team Manager/Captain - To register a MONDAY OR WEDNESDAY team - PLEASE CLICK HERE

Team Manager/Captain - To register a THURSDAY team - PLEASE CLICK HERE

2. ONCE THE TEAM MANAGER HAS REGISTERED A TEAM, TEAM MEMBERS CAN REGISTER DIRECTLY TO THAT TEAM

Once the Team Manager has registered a summer hockey team in PlayHQ, they will be emailed a link from PlayHQ. This link can then be forwarded to their team members (players and coach support if applicable) so that they can register directly to their team. Please note team members MUST KNOW their team name in order to register.

E.g. I'm the Team Manager for  Crazy Sticks and want to play in the Monday league. I register "Crazy Sticks" by clicking on the link "Team Manager/Captain - To register a MONDAY OR WEDNESDAY team - PLEASE CLICK HERE". Once registered I'm emailed a link which I send out to all my team members who will be playing in Crazy Sticks, so that they can register directly to "Crazy Sticks".
