Positive Vibes Only

We are excited to welcome KwikSticks Coaches and Teams to the 2026 season and to share a fresh initiative, in collaboration with Sport BOP – Positive Vibes Only

The Positive Vibes Only campaign started a few years ago, and after successful integration in AIMS Games over the past two years, has been adopted by Sport BOP to support the vision: Positive Vibes Only – Across Sports, Across Spaces – a shared regional commitment to environments where positivity is visible, expected, and normalised.

This initiative aligns with Tauranga Hockey Values – Respect, Inclusive, Integrity – and serves as a great reminder of the importance of what sport provides for young people.

Tauranga Hockey is aligning the Positive Vibes Only initiative with KwikSticks Hockey. On Fridays, you will see some pink vests around, and an extension to our Umpire Development Programmes with the ‘Pink Badge’ being introduced. Across the season there will be various Positive Vibes Only initiatives alongside KwikSticks games!

The official Sport BOP Positive Vibes Only launch will be mid-May but we have hit the ground running!

  • If your team is keen to jump on board the Positive Vibe train with values of RESPECT – POSITIVITY – COMMUNITY, supporting coaches, supporting officials & supporting a positive environment - please love these values and get involved with the initiatives throughout the season.

Positive Vibes Only webinars - Sport BOP/Sport Waikato collaboration

The environments we shape influence whether people stay in sport - or leave.

Right now, we know too many young people are walking away. Not because of the game itself, but because of the experience around it.

This season, we have an opportunity to lead that change.

We are asking our clubs, schools, coaches, managers, whaanau, and supporters to engage in a shared 30-minute PVO webinar as a commitment to raising the standard across our sport.

Through this, we aim to:

  • Create environments that keep participants coming back
  • Strengthen and retain volunteers, officials, and referees
  • Align behaviours across our sport to reflect our values

30-minute Webinar. Listen in. Contribute if you want. Be part of the movement.
